It's the most wonderful time of the year!

What could possibly be better than high adrenaline, scarezones, and pizza fries? All of that with an 80’s twist. This year Universal Studios themed one of its most popular events, Halloween Horror Nights, in a 1980’s style. Not to mention the biggest crowd of the season due to none other than the "Stranger Things" house. There is so much to enjoy and appreciate the event, but it almost seems impossible to see it all in one night... Unless of course you're like me and you know exactly when to go and where to go at what time; and I'm here to share that with you.

First of all, plan what day you will be attending. I recommend a Sunday or Thursday night (usually Wednesdays work too, but this year it seems there's just as big of a crowd on a Wednesday night as there is a Friday Night). If you can only attend a Friday or Saturday night, then I highly advise to invest in the Express Ticket for the event as that will be your only way to visit each and every house.

Unlike most things I do in life, do NOT go with the flow for this event. Don't be like every other tourist and walk straight for as long as possible. As soon as you enter the park, head for the back by Men In Black; then make your way towards the front. The first scarzone you'll walk through is "Chucky" (don't get distracted by the show, just keep walking), and shortly after you will go through Twisted Traditions. Start with the 3 houses in the back: "BlumHouse", Dead Exposure, and Slaughter Sinema (WARNING: Dead Exposure is entirely strobe-lights, and you cannot see in that house). Next, I recommend heading towards Poltergeist, Scary Tales, and Carnival Graveyard. You'll be able to pass through Vamp 85 and, if you take the long route, Killer Clowns from Outer Space. Now you're going to want to head back towards Killer Klowns, make your way through Twisted Traditions once more, and hit the houses in Kidzone: Seeds of Extinction and, my favorite, "Trick r' Treat". After that, Go through "Chucky", and enjoy "Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers". And now it is close to the end of your night. This is the prime time to get to "Stranger Things". I have been observing the wait times for this house all season, and it is always at its shortest towards the end of the night. TRUST ME.

Okay, okay enough about houses and scarezones... BRING ON THE BOOZE!! Through out the park, Universal offers their signature light-up souvenir refillable cup that allows you to chose from 3 different drinks: Totally L.I.T. (vodka, tequila, gin, rum with triple sec, lemonade, and Coca-Cola), Wicked Rad Punch (blueberry vodka, raspberry vodka, triple sec, lemonade, and grenadine), and Gnarly Twist (a sweet n' sour blend of Wicked Rad Punch and Totally L.I.T.). Universal also has carts scattered through the park that offer a selection of beers and ciders, my favorite being the Black Widow. (Pro Tip: There is never a wait for alcoholic beverages in Diagon Alley).

I could discuss about the awesome specialty food as well, but all I am going to say is PIZZA FRIES. Just. Do. It.

Now you're ready to enjoy a smooth night of Halloween Horror Nights. *Please do NOT attempt to scare the scare actors or touch them. That is their job to scare you, not the other way around*

Enjoy and be safe!
